Genekor Medical at the 8th Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology Congress

Genekor Medical actively participated in the 8th Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO) Congress, held on May 6–9 at the Makedonia Palace in Thessaloniki, contributing to the scientific discussions shaping the future of precision oncology.

As part of the congress, on Thursday, May 7, Genekor Medical had the honor of welcoming Dr. Minetta Liu, Chief Medical Officer, Oncology at Natera, with whom the company collaborates in the field of molecular oncology. Dr. Liu delivered the presentation “Clinical utility of tumor-informed ctDNA”, focusing on the clinical value of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and its evolving role in modern oncology care.

The presentation highlighted how ctDNA can be utilized for the detection and monitoring of Molecular Residual Disease (MRD), as well as its contribution to enabling earlier and more personalized therapeutic decisions.

At the same time, the congress scientific program also featured research presented by Katerina Tsantikidi, PhD, Molecular Biologist at Genekor Medical, focusing on the comparative evaluation of NGS techniques for the detection of gene rearrangements in sarcomas, underlining the importance of modern molecular approaches in diagnosis and therapeutic guidance.
