What is the ArteraAI® Prostate Test and what makes it special?

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test is a multimodal artificial intelligence (MMAI)-based test designed to support personalized treatment decisions for patients with localized prostate cancer. By analyzing digital images of existing prostate biopsy H&E slides (hematoxylin and eosin-stained slides) together with clinical information, the test provides personalized insights into how the cancer may progress and into the potential benefit of specific treatment approaches. The test uses the patient’s existing biopsy tissue, with no additional biopsy required, and provides prognostic and predictive information to support more informed, individualized treatment decisions.

  • Insights across NCCN risk groups in localized prostate cancer
  • Prognostic and predictive insights
  • No additional biopsy required
  • Results within a few days
  • Clinically validated AI1–7

Suitable for patients across all risk groups

Across risk groups, the test provides personalized prognostic information, including the 10-year risk of distant metastasis (DM) and the 10-year risk of prostate cancer-specific mortality (PCSM), helping clinicians assess how aggressively the disease may behave.1–3

For lower-risk patients, the ArteraAI® Prostate Test can provide additional prognostic insights to support active surveillance decision-making and help identify patients whose individual risk may warrant earlier treatment.

For intermediate-risk patients being considered for radiation therapy, the test can help predict whether adding short-term androgen deprivation therapy (ST-ADT) to radiation therapy may provide a therapeutic benefit.2

For patients with very high-risk, non-metastatic disease, the test can provide additional information to help assess whether adding abiraterone to long-term androgen deprivation therapy (LT-ADT) and radiation therapy may provide benefit.7

For high-risk patients, the test can also help assess the expected benefit of long-term ADT in combination with radiation therapy.6

What information can the ArteraAI® Prostate Test provide?

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test provides prognostic and predictive insights to support more individualized treatment decisions, including:

10-year risk of distant metastasis (DM)

10-year risk of prostate cancer-specific mortality (PCSM)

Prognostic insights to support active surveillance decisions (low, favorable-intermediate risk)

Prediction of ST-ADT benefit with radiation therapy (intermediate risk)

Prognostic insights to support abiraterone benefit (very high-risk, non-metastatic)

Personalized insights across NCCN risk groups

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test provides personalized prognostic and predictive insights across NCCN risk groups, supporting treatment decisions according to each patient’s individual clinical profile.1–3

Who is the ArteraAI® Prostate Test for?

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test (Biopsy) is intended for adult men with localized prostate cancer without clinically or pathologically defined metastatic disease.

Eligible patients should be candidates for curative-intent management, which may include surgery, radiation therapy with or without systemic therapy, or active surveillance.

The science behind the ArteraAI® Prostate Test

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test uses multimodal artificial intelligence to analyze digital images from the patient’s prostate biopsy together with relevant clinical information.

By combining these two types of data, the test can identify patterns associated with disease progression and treatment response, providing individualized prognostic and predictive insights.

The technology has been developed and validated using data from multiple randomized Phase III clinical trials and additional patient cohorts.1,2,4–7

How does the ArteraAI® Prostate Test work?

01
Existing prostate biopsy
Uses the patient’s existing diagnostic prostate biopsy.
02
Digital pathology + clinical information
H&E-stained biopsy slides are digitized and combined with relevant clinical data.
03
Multimodal AI analysis
Artera’s multimodal artificial intelligence analyzes the combined information.
04
Personalized report
Provides prognostic and predictive insights to support treatment decisions.

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test uses the patient’s existing prostate biopsy tissue, with no additional biopsy specifically required for the test.

ArteraAI® Prostate Test in the NCCN Guidelines

The ArteraAI® Prostate Test is included among the Advanced Prognostic Tools in the NCCN Guidelines for Prostate Cancer.

The guidelines reference the use of multimodal artificial intelligence (MMAI) in intermediate-, high- and very-high-risk prostate cancer, including evidence relating to the prediction of benefit from androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and abiraterone.8
