She has studied Chemistry at the University of Patras and has successfully completed the postgraduate degree “Clinical Biochemistry-Molecular Diagnostics” at the Department of Biology of the Hellenic University of Patras. She works at Genekor I.A.E. since 2021 and since 2022 she is a PhD candidate at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens on “Study of genomic patterns and mechanisms of signaling pathways in prostate cancer patients”. She has 3 publications.

- Dimitra Bouzarelou, B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D.
Dr. Dimitra Bouzarelou studied Biology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and holds a master’s degree specializing in Health Unit Management. She completed her doctoral thesis at the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics of the Institute of Biology of the E.K.E.F.E. “DIMOKRITOS” in collaboration with the Department of Biology of EKPA. He holds a specialty title in clinical laboratory genetics recognized by the European Board of Medical Genetics (EBMG).
She has published 6 papers in international scientific journals in the field of Genetics and Molecular Biology. She has been working at Genekor Medical S.A. since 2022.

- Konstantinos Agiannitopoulos, Molecular Biologist, Ph.D
Dr. Konstantinos Agiannitopoulos studied Biology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) and holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine (Advanced Molecular Diagnostics) of the Medical School of the UoA. He completed his doctoral thesis at the Genetics Laboratory at Department of Biology, Section of Genetics & Biotechnology of UoA.
He has published 27 papers in international scientific journals in the field of Genetics and Molecular Biology. He has been working at GENEKOR Medical S.A. since 2013. He has been working at GENEKOR Medical S.A. since 2013.

Georgia Pepe, Molecular Biologist, B.Sc, M.Sc She studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics of the Democritus University of Thrace and holds a master’s degree in “Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Diagnostic” from the Faculty of Biology of the UoA. She has publications in international scientific journals. She has been working at GENEKOR Medical S.A. since 2014.
HISTOPATHOLOGY GROUP LEADER
- Dimitris Fotiou, Biologist, B.Sc
Dimitris Fotiou studied Biology at the department of the same name at the University of Patras. He holds a master’s degree in “Oncology from oncogenesis to treatment” from the Medical School of the University of Crete. His dissertation concerns the comparison of ALK mutation detection with FISH, IHC and NGS techniques in advanced non-small cell lung cancer. He is trained in genetic material isolation techniques, fluorescent in situ hybridization as well as immunohistochemistry. He has been working at Genekor MSA since 2017 and is currently in charge of the histopathology department.
He has published 3 papers in international scientific journals.
GROUP LEADER OF CYTOGENETICS
- Jenny Mpourkoula, B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D
Dr. Mpourkoula Djeni, PhD, head of cytogenetics at Genekor MSA, holds a PhD in Regenerative Medicine related to gliomas from the Department of Medicine of the University of Udine (Italy), a master’s degree in Physiopathology from the Department of Biology of the University of Trieste (Italy) and holder of a degree in Biology from the homonymous department of the University of Trieste (Italy). Among others, her research interests include the development of new biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and treatment. He has applied molecular and cellular biology techniques. Mpourkoula Jeni has published 10 papers in international scientific journals in the field of Medicine and Biology. She has worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the pathology and neurosurgery department of the University Hospital of Udine.
GROUP LEADER GENETIC MATERIAL EXTRACTION
- Artemis Michala, Biologist, B.Sc
Artemis Michala studied Biology at the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies (BET) of Ioannina whose degree is also recognized as an Integrated Master in the specialty of the department. Her diploma work has been carried out at the Institute of Biomedical Research (IBE) of Ioannina on the epigenetic regulation of kinases during spermatogenesis. She has been trained in genetic material isolation techniques and fluorescent in situ hybridization. She has been working at Genekor since 2020 and is currently in charge of the genetic material isolation department.
